We have come a long way since our first Desktop Computer (Circa 1979).

THE TRANSAM TRITON COMPUTER

 

This was sold in kit form in the UK and built from a motherboard and chips and sourced half of them from the US.

2 KBytes BIOS, 2 KBytes BASIC and you load your programs via tape cassette and run it to a TV.
